Where the Heel-3 Have I Been?

Happy New Year!

My last blog post was on October 6, 2013, twenty-four days before my blog's third anniversary, and also two blog posts away from my 200th post. Why did I drop off the face off the earth? Well, a few things:

1. I did not fall off the face of the earth. That's impossible.
2. I procrastinated making blog posts for the landmarks listed above.
3. School happened.

But now I'm back! Well, no, not really. I probably won't be active again on here until school lets out in May. Then I plan on taking a gap year after finishing high school, so that will give me plenty of time to do whatever I want. For now, I guess all you get is this little update post.

I've been watching through the Stargate franchise with a friend. Where most people my age grew up with Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, I grew up with Stargate and Hogan's Heroes. Unfortunately, I didn't fully appreciate Stargate SG-1 as a kid, so now when I'm rewatching it all these years later, I'm realizing just how awesome it really is. Easily one of the best series of all time, in any form of media.

On another note, Steam suddenly works for me again for some reason. I've been playing a couple games, but I'm still done with Thursday Impressions for the time being. I'm not currently reading anything for pleasure, but for class we just finished The Iliad and will soon start on The Odyssey. I may have gained a little more respect for Greek mythology, but I still hate it. Don't, however, mention that fact to a few of my classmates, who happened to love The Iliad through and through.

With the subject of reading, Homer Hickam has announced and made available for pre-order the third and possibly final book in the Helium-3 series, titled Crater Trueblood and the Lunar Rescue Company. You can tell there's a little change in tradition in that title from the previous titles in the series (simply titled Crater and Crescent). Once again, I very highly recommend this series. The upcoming Heel-3 novel is to be released in June. I'm not too thrilled about the wait, but I haven't been this excited for a book release in a while.

I've updated my Status page for the first time probably since my last blog post, and it now includes what television series I'm currently watching. You can check it out, or you can decide not to.

So, yes, I am aware that I missed my blog's three-year anniversary, but I will not ignore that my next blog post is my 200th. I have something planned, but considering it's been planned since August or September and I haven't gotten around to doing it yet, who knows how long it will take. Farewell for now, and hopefully see you again before too long.
